Global Mentorship Initiative (GMI), U.S.-based nonprofit organization that helps historically underrepresented graduates secure their first professional roles and build thriving careers, today announced that its CEO and Founder, Jon Browning, will be inducted into the 2026 IAOP® Leadership Hall of Fame.
IAOP recognizes Browning for his leadership in advancing mentorship, equity, and measurable social impact across global sourcing ecosystems. The 2026 inductees exemplify leadership that strengthens global business, promotes responsible outsourcing, and delivers meaningful, measurable impact for communities worldwide.
“We are pleased to induct Jon Browning into the IAOP Leadership Hall of Fame. Jon’s leadership demonstrates how global sourcing professionals can extend their influence beyond operations to create real, lasting pathways to opportunity, inclusion, and social impact,” said Debi Hamill, CEO, IAOP.
Under Browning’s leadership, GMI has built a global mentoring model that closes the opportunity gap for students who lack access to career guidance and professional networks. Through the program, each student is paired with a dedicated mentor who provides them with personalized coaching as they navigate the transition from education to employment, resulting in 74% of GMI mentees securing employment within six months of graduation. Since launching in 2020, Browning has grown GMI’s diverse global community to over 10,000 volunteer mentors in 150+ countries, united in a shared purpose to prepare students not just for their first job—but for lives of collaboration, curiosity, and resilience in a global economy.
“I’m deeply honored to be recognized by IAOP alongside leaders who believe that business can be a force for good,” said Jon Browning, Founder and CEO of Global Mentorship Initiative. “Mentorship changes lives—not just for mentees, but for mentors, organizations, and global ecosystems. This recognition belongs to the entire GMI community of mentors, partners, and supporters who are proving that corporations want to engage in responsible, impact-driven talent development, and that equity and excellence go hand in hand.”
The IAOP Leadership Hall of Fame celebrates individuals whose work has shaped the global sourcing industry through innovation, ethical leadership, and sustained impact. Browning’s induction underscores the growing role of mentorship and inclusive leadership in building resilient, future-ready global workforces.
Jon Browning will be formally Inducted into the IAOP® Leadership Hall of Fame at OWS26 during the IAOP Awards Ceremony on April 28, 2026, in Chicago.
