As a Mentor Co-facilitator, you’ll play a key role in keeping the discussion active and engaging during GMI’s one-hour Microsoft Giving Campaign event. Working alongside a GMI student co-facilitator and a GMI staff facilitator, your role is to spark meaningful dialogue and ensure participants leave with practical insights.

What to Expect During the Session

• The GMI student co-facilitator will lead three rounds of discussion, each centered on a question about how AI is reshaping entry-level roles.
• You will receive all discussion questions at least one week before the event so you can review and reflect on your perspective.
• After each question is posed, the audience will be invited to respond. If the audience is slow to engage, you will speak first—share your own insights or reframe the question to make it clearer or more relatable.
• Encourage participation by asking follow-up questions and drawing connections between audience responses.
• Offer a brief summary of key takeaways at the end of each round to link the discussion to real workplace challenges.

This is a conversational role, not a presentation—no slides or formal prep required beyond reviewing the questions in advance.

Time Commitment

• 1 hour on the day of the event (optional 15-minute pre-event briefing if desired).
• The hour can be tracked as Microsoft volunteer time in Benevity.

By stepping in to guide the conversation when needed, you’ll help create a dynamic, supportive space for students and colleagues,
while directly shaping insights that inform GMI’s curriculum for 13,000+ students worldwide.
