How It Works
1. Apply
Submit your application to be matched with a mentor. GMI will notify you when your application has been approved.
2. Respond
Check your email regularly for next steps and respond right away to requests for information.
3. Complete orientation
Once approved, complete the interactive online orientation before you receive your mentor assignment.
4. Meet your mentor
You and your mentor will work together to help you build confidence, refine your career goals, and prepare for success.
Student Eligibility & Requirements
- Proficient in English or Spanish
- Access to a video capable PC with a stable internet, not just a smartphone
- Can commit to actively engage in all 12 one-hour virtual sessions with your mentor
- Currently enrolled in school and will complete degree or certificate program within two years or has completed a degree or certificate program within the last two years and is still searching for first career job (Waived for displaced learners)
- First-generation college student or qualifies/qualified for educational financial aid
- 18 years old or older at time of application
